The next Boy Scout Roundtable will be Tuesday September 13th, 7:30pm at the East Granby Congregational Church.

September is fast approaching and with it brings the first Matianuck District Boy Scout Roundtable meeting of the 2016-17 program year. I looked up the planned program features from Boys Life as well as the suggested Boy Scout interest topics from the Roundtable Planning Guide, and drafted the following plan for the year (see table below). This plan can be modified to suit the interests and needs of your units, so please comment or send me an email to share your ideas. I look forward to meeting with you again in September!

Lastly, a PDF of the newly published Program Features Volume III is currently on scouting.org.

The program feature for March roundtable is Climbing and Rappelling. This goes hand-in-hand with our main event of the evening, which will be a fun time learning about the tough scout challenge and T76’s Mt. Washington experience. We probably will not spend as much time discussing the program feature topic this month, but you may download a pdf of it here (link to be added later).

February Roundtable Agenda

  • Joint opening
    • Announcements
    • Council-led introduction to Scoutbook.com
      • This training/introduction will be detailed and take about 45 minutes, so we will do the Tough Scout Challenge and Mt. Washington experience next month in the boy scout breakout session (March).

The program feature for February roundtable is Citizenship. In order to have time for the scoutbook.com training, we will forgo the program feature topic this month, but you may download a pdf of it here. Thank you to Chuck for conducting the February roundtable!

November Roundtable Follow-up

Back in November, Jack Meakin gave us some training on how to utilize a Chaplain’s Aide. He sent me several documents to post with more information about the Chaplain’s Aide position, the Religious Emblems Coordinator, some training material, and a flyer regarding the upcoming Annual Catholic Boy Scout Retreat June 10-12 at Camp Workcoeman. Links to download these files are given here below. Thanks Jack!!
